Kidney Education The kidneys perform many important functions in your body, including removing waste products and extra water, regulating blood pressure, making red blood cells, and keeping your bones healthy. Chronic kidney disease occurs when kidneys are damaged and don’t work the way they are supposed to.
Home Dialysis Home dialysis provides an alternative location for dialysis treatment. The treatments take place in the privacy of your own home, allowing more independence and control of your treatment. There are different options for doing dialysis at home. Home Hemodialysis With home hemodialysis, you are connected via a needle in your access site to an artificial kidney machine that filters your blood. When you treat at home, you can schedule the time of your prescribed treatments around the activities in...
Rehabilitation Through our innovative partnership with Ambassador Health, there is no need for you to travel outside of the facility to receive high-quality dialysis care. This allows you to maintain a normal rehabilitation schedule, including appointments, meals, and activities, to help you return to your home as soon as possible.
In-Center Hemodialysis Hemodialysis uses an artificial kidney machine to cleanse the blood and remove excess body fluids. An access device called a fistula or graft is placed in an arm or leg, or temporary access through a hemodialysis catheter is placed in the neck. Both access devices allow the connection of the bloodstream to the artificial kidney, where it is cleansed and returned to the patient. The treatment usually averages four hours, three times per week.
Hospital Rest assured, your dialysis care with DCL doesn’t stop if you are in the hospital.
